We've announced support for two events taking place in November in PorterShed to help the Galway tech community.

This year, we successfully launched our Galway hub at Portershed and have actively engaged with the tech community by hosting and attending various events in the space.

A focus on innovative testing strategies

In partnership with itag Skillnet, we will be hosting ‘A Dive into Innovative Testing Strategies’ which takes place in the PorterShed, Galway on Thursday 16 November at 6 pm.

At the event, Darryn Downey, Engineering Manager and Karl Kyck, Software Development Leader & Cloud Architect will share insights on embracing incremental change and delve into best practices for software testing excellence. The event is free and complimentary pizza and drinks will be served.

A focus on cybersecurity

Tying in quite nicely, we're also supporting Galway IT's November meetup. Galway IT is a new community initiative welcoming anyone interested or working in software, hardware, IT or a related field and offers the opportunity to socialise, network and learn.

At the event on Tuesday 28 November Darryl Dowling, one of our Solutions Engineers, will be covering how Liberty IT’s Cybersecurity guilds support their engineers in delivering business value, securely and at speed.

Forging connections

Darren, the Site Lead for our Galway operation, emphasises the value of collaboration and our dedication to nurturing a thriving tech community in Galway. Speaking on the events he said:

“At Liberty IT, we believe in the power of collaboration and are committed to supporting Galway’s vibrant tech community which is a supportive network that encourages innovation, growth and creativity. We are excited to be lending our support to itag and the Galway IT group for two events in November and I would encourage people working in the industry or anybody with a passion for tech to sign up and come along for an evening of networking, knowledge and great pizza.”

Liam, Galway IT, also highlighted the importance of diversity in tech and how these events contribute to the tech community:

“The city has a fascinating history in tech which I believe we should share and build on. At Galway IT, I want to help create a community of diverse people doing innovative things. I’m delighted that Liberty IT share my vision and are keen to support Galway’s tech industry and I look forward to working in partnership with them in November and in the months and years ahead.”
